On October 24th, members of Indonesia’s new cabinet boarded a military aircraft in Jakarta for a three-day brainstorming session at a military academy in Central Java. According to the Presidential Palace, this initiative aims to promote unity and foster a spirit of teamwork among the ministers.
Reports from Indonesian media indicate that 48 ministers, 59 deputy ministers, and 5 agency heads attended the event. The military academy in Magelang, Central Java, has set up over 100 tents for the attendees, allowing them to stay overnight in the mountains. This arrangement is intended to help them get to know each other better, build friendships, and facilitate smoother collaboration in the future.
Just three days prior, Indonesia’s new president, Prabowo, appointed the cabinet members. The Presidential Palace stated that during the gathering at the military academy, Prabowo would outline his key plans and priorities, especially his initiatives for the first 100 days in office, emphasizing the need for all ministers to be well-informed.
“I place a high value on teamwork,” Prabowo remarked during the first full cabinet meeting. He expressed hope that the military academy experience would instill courage and heroism in the ministers. Interestingly, 27 years ago, Prabowo himself taught at the same military institution.
