Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office announced today that during a recent conversation with former President Donald Trump, he emphasized that Israel makes decisions based on national interests.
According to a Reuters report, Netanyahu reiterated his previous statements, saying that while Israel considers issues raised by the U.S. government, final decisions will be made based on what serves the nation’s interests.
Later, in Philadelphia, Trump told reporters that his conversation with Netanyahu was “very pleasant.” He noted that Netanyahu had sought his advice on how to handle the situation with Iran, particularly in light of recent missile strikes launched by Iran, which have prompted Israel to contemplate a military response.
Trump stated, “He asked me for my thoughts on this, and I simply said, ‘Do what you need to do.'”
