On October 13, reports from Reuters indicated that a tragic incident occurred in Russia’s Sakha Republic when an AN-3 aircraft made an emergency landing about 1.5 kilometers outside the city of Olekminsk, resulting in one passenger’s death.
According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, there were five people onboard at the time of the incident—three crew members and two passengers. In a statement on the social media platform Telegram, the ministry provided updates regarding the accident.
The Transport Prosecutor’s Office of Eastern Siberia also shared preliminary information on Telegram, suggesting that a loss of engine power led to the emergency landing.
