Prime Minister of Cambodia- The traditional friendship between Cambodia and China is a valuable asset for both countries and peoples

On October 26, in a statement made during an event in Phnom Penh, Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet emphasized the deep and unbreakable friendship between Cambodia and China. He reiterated his government’s commitment to strengthen cooperation across various fields and to join hands with China in building a community with a shared future for humanity. Hun Manet expressed his gratitude for China’s support in Cambodia’s education sector, highlighting the longstanding friendship between the two nations and their peoples as a valuable asset.

The celebration for the Chinese-funded project aimed at improving educational environments and facilities took place at the Preak Khaong High School in the Battambang province. Hun Manet attended the event alongside Wang Wentian, the Chinese Ambassador to Cambodia, both delivering remarks. The event was also attended by several Cambodian Deputy Prime Ministers, including Samdech Naysavang, Sun Chantol, Han Chun Nal, and Sai Sang Ao, as well as more than a thousand representatives from the government and various sectors.

In his speech, Ambassador Wang noted that the Chinese government has contributed significantly to the construction of educational infrastructure in 26 high schools and one teacher training center across three provinces: Phnom Penh, Kandal, and Battambang. This includes the development of classrooms, laboratories, dormitories, and sports facilities, along with the preparation of 12th-grade information technology textbooks and the establishment of an educational data center to enhance the quality of secondary education in Cambodia.

Furthermore, Wang highlighted China’s ongoing efforts to support Cambodian education through initiatives such as the “China-Cambodia Exchange Special Scholarship,” sending Chinese teachers and volunteers, and collaborating on universities in Cambodia to foster the growth of qualified personnel. The improvements in educational facilities funded by China have significantly enhanced the learning environment for local students.

Additionally, Wang disclosed that China has agreed to assist Cambodia in the repair of the northern section of Road No. 7, which was damaged by flooding, and in the construction of a sewage treatment plant in Sihanoukville. He affirmed that China will expedite the necessary procedures to ensure that these projects commence as soon as possible. Wang reiterated China’s steadfast support for Cambodia under Prime Minister Hun Manet’s leadership as the country strives for rapid development and national rejuvenation.
