North American Peace Conference rally to support Trump

In a vibrant show of support for Donald Trump’s 2024 campaign, the North America Fuhua Association (FRANA) held a rally on October 19 at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, attracting a significant number of Taiwanese American expatriates from Southern California and nearby regions.

During the event, supporters displayed several banners in one corner of the park, catching the attention of many passersby. Some vehicles even honked their horns in solidarity.

“We believe that the Republican Party represents the conservative values that are the foundation of America’s spirit,” said Zheng Yingjie, the acting president of FRANA and the event’s organizer. He emphasized that, given the numerous challenges facing the United States today, Trump is “America’s last hope.” Zheng highlighted the importance of conservative values in safeguarding the nation’s foundational principles, as reflected in the traditional Presbyterian interpretation of the U.S. Constitution.

Dr. David Lee, a Taiwanese American from Las Vegas, made a special trip to attend. Having lived in the U.S. since 1980, he expressed concerns about the current educational policies and the legalization of drugs among other societal issues. “For the sake of the next generation’s education and future, we need to support Trump,” he urged.

Long-time political commentator Guo Shuren reflected on his 44 years in the U.S., criticizing the Democratic Party for implementing far-left policies that he believes have resulted in rising crime rates. “Many older immigrants feel disappointed,” he noted. “Trump is not an extreme right figure; he aims to bring America back on track, especially in terms of border security and public safety, which will contribute to social stability.”

While participants acknowledged the challenges of driving political change in heavily Democratic California, they expressed determination to continue their efforts in rallying more immigrant voters to make a difference in the upcoming 2024 election. “This event is about uniting the Taiwanese American community to support Trump, showcasing the Chinese community’s commitment to conservative values and hope for the future,” Zheng stated.
