Netanyahu’s private residence attacked by drone

On October 19, the Israeli Prime Minister’s Office confirmed that a drone launched from Lebanon attacked a building in the northern city of Caesarea early in the morning. The target was the private residence of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. At the time of the incident, neither Netanyahu nor his wife was at home, and there were no casualties reported.

Israeli media reported that three drones were fired from Lebanon, with two being intercepted and one striking a building in Caesarea, resulting in an explosion. Local police responded swiftly to the scene.

In a brief statement, the Prime Minister’s Office noted that the Netanyahu couple was away at the time, and there were no other injuries. Netanyahu himself has not publicly commented on the attack.

The Israeli military is currently investigating the incident, while Hezbollah has yet to issue any public statements regarding the attack.

According to the Times of Israel, there were multiple failures in Israel’s alert system during the incident. The alarm did not sound before or during the drone’s impact, and local residents did not receive warnings on their mobile devices, which meant that they did not evacuate. Fortunately, no one was harmed.

This attack follows a previous drone strike by Hezbollah on October 13, which targeted a military base in northern Israel’s Binyamina, resulting in the deaths of four Israeli soldiers and injuries to over sixty others. Similar to the recent incident, there were no alerts in that area at the time.
