The 23rd China Shantou (Chenghai) International Toy and Gift Fair is taking place from October 25 to 27 in Shantou, Guangdong. Over 10,000 buyers and exhibitors from countries and regions including Canada, the United States, Germany, Thailand, India, Russia, South Korea, and Pakistan have gathered to explore potential business opportunities.
Spanning more than 50,000 square meters, the fair showcases over 200,000 toys and related products, representing the entire toy industry chain. It highlights the latest innovations in the toy creative industry and its supporting sectors.
Notably, this year’s fair welcomes 23 overseas exhibitors from countries such as Pakistan and South Korea for the first time. Additionally, industry associations from Malaysia, India, and Thailand have organized delegations to participate in procurement activities.
Chen Yisheng, the director of the Chenghai Plastic Precision Manufacturing Alliance, noted that the future of precision manufacturing will focus more on automation, intelligence, and sustainability. He expressed hopes that the fair would facilitate in-depth communication and discussions, allowing participants to share their latest research findings and practical experiences, and ultimately promote cooperation and win-win outcomes across the industry chain.
Since its inception in the 1980s, the Chenghai toy industry has developed over the past 40 years into a major hub for toy production and export in China. Currently, around 200,000 people are employed in the toy industry in Shantou, with the total output value for 2023 expected to exceed 50 billion yuan (approximately $7 billion).
