Long March Story – The term -Red Army Long March- originally came from here!

In May 1935, the Red Army found itself needing to pass through territories inhabited by the Yi people. The oppressive actions of the Kuomintang had created significant rifts between different ethnic groups. In an effort to bridge the misunderstandings between the Yi people and the Han Chinese, Lu Dingyi worked throughout the night to craft a proclamation titled “Announcement from the Chinese Workers and Peasants Red Army.” This announcement, later issued by Commander-in-Chief Zhu De, adopted a straightforward format of six-character lines across 26 lines. Notably, it was the first time the phrase “Long March of the Red Army” was used, making it catchy, memorable, and easy to share. From that moment on, the lexicon of the Chinese people expanded to include not just the “Great Wall,” but also the “Long March.”
