On October 22, the Hefei City Bureau of Industry and Information Technology announced that as of October 21, the production of new energy vehicles in Hefei had surpassed 1 million units. They project that the total production for the year will exceed 1.3 million units.

In the first nine months of this year, Hefei’s production of new energy vehicles already exceeded the entire production for 2023. Data shows that from January to September, the total automobile production in Hefei reached 1.3117 million units, with new energy vehicle production accounting for 927,500 units, marking an impressive year-on-year increase of 74.47%.

Looking ahead, Hefei officials have set an ambitious goal: by 2027, they aim to establish 2 to 3 vehicle manufacturing enterprises with an annual output of 500,000 units each, along with adding 10 component manufacturers with revenues exceeding 10 billion yuan. They anticipate that the production capacity for new energy vehicles will surpass 3 million units, generating collective revenue of over 700 billion yuan.
