On October 21, 2023, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport announced significant updates regarding its winter-spring flight schedule, which will commence on October 27. This new schedule will introduce 12 domestic routes and expand international access to a total of 30 destinations.
In domestic travel, the airport will add 12 new routes, including Xinyi, Yueyang, Shashi, Altay, Jiayuguan, Meizhou, Shangrao, Hulunbuir, Zhangjiajie, Zhaotong, Chaoyang, and Arxan. On the international front, travelers can now reach major cities like Seattle, London, Paris, Sydney, Singapore, Osaka, Dubai, Rome, and Madrid among others.
The airport plans to enhance its “Chongqing Fast Line” network, aiming for high-frequency flights on key routes. For instance, daily flights to Beijing (including both Capital and Daxing airports) will amount to 37, with 33 flights to Shanghai (including Hongqiao and Pudong) and 26 to Guangzhou. Additionally, there will be 25 daily flights to Shenzhen.
Further strengthening connectivity, the airport will maintain at least 10 daily flights each to Nanjing, Hangzhou, Qingdao, Jinan, Haikou, Tianjin, Changsha, Shenyang, Sanya, Xiamen, and Dalian. Notably, flights from Chongqing to Lhasa will operate 9 times a day, and there will be 8 flights to Urumqi. The airport will also improve access to 7 destinations within Xinjiang, including Urumqi, Aksu, Korla, Altay, Hami, Kashgar, and Hotan.
In terms of multimodal transport, Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport has established city terminals at locations such as Chongqing West Station, Chongqing North Station, Shapingba Station, and Raffles City in Yuzhong District. Passengers can enjoy a range of services including check-in, baggage drop-off, flight inquiries, high-speed train ticket purchases, exclusive lounges, and airport shuttle services.
