On October 16th, the 13th China Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition for Advanced Equipment Manufacturing kicked off in the high-tech zone of Shenyang. Reporter Zhao Guihua has the details. A total of 181 top enterprises from across the country are set to compete fiercely, showcasing a battle of intellect and innovation.
Themed “Gathering Through Innovation, Advancing Together,” this year’s competition is hosted by the Torch Center of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, with support from the Liaoning Provincial Department of Science and Technology, the Liaoning Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology, the Shenyang Municipal Government, and the Shenyang High-tech Zone Management Committee.
As the first stop of five national competitions, Shenyang is leading the charge in this technological innovation extravaganza. The event has attracted significant participation, particularly from the advanced equipment manufacturing sector, which boasts over 4,600 enterprises, accounting for 16.76% of the total. Thousands of businesses successfully advanced to the national finals after competing in local events.
Sheng Yanlin, Deputy Director of the Torch Center, expressed his appreciation for the innovation and development efforts in Liaoning Province, Shenyang City, and the Shenyang High-tech Zone. He emphasized the need for Shenyang High-tech Zone to gather more technological innovation resources, promote open innovation, and strengthen tech enterprises to invigorate the high-end equipment manufacturing industry on a national scale.
Cai Rui, Director of the Liaoning Provincial Department of Science and Technology, stated that this competition serves as a comprehensive review of China’s advanced equipment manufacturing achievements. He highlighted its role in promoting technological innovation, enhancing industrial upgrades, and driving market vitality. Cai urged that the event should serve as a catalyst to deeply integrate the innovation, industrial, funding, and talent chains, facilitating higher-quality development in Liaoning’s manufacturing sector.
Notable speakers, including Chinese Academy of Engineering member Tang Lixin, Zheng Guangwen, Chairman of Shenyang Fuchuang Precision Equipment Co., Ltd., and Shao Wenlong, Director of the Shenyang Industrial Technology Research Institute, delivered keynote addresses. The atmosphere in the venue was electric, with enthusiastic applause resonating as guests shared inspiring insights, igniting a spirit of innovation and ambition among competing companies.
The competition format includes semifinals and a final, culminating in the selection of award-winning national enterprises. Additionally, there will be a series of events such as closed-door meetings for listed companies, exchange forums for businesses of all sizes, public training sessions, and project negotiations to aid enterprises in expanding cooperation channels and discovering win-win opportunities.
