On October 15, the Beidou Satellite Navigation Product Certification Symposium took place in Beijing. During the event, the first batch of Beidou satellite navigation product certification certificates was awarded. Wu Xiaolong, Deputy Director of the China Cyber Security Review and Certification Center, presented the certificates to representatives from the certified companies.
The conference brought together experts, scholars, certification organizations, testing agencies, industry associations, certified enterprises, and user representatives from the Beidou navigation field. They engaged in deep discussions on topics related to policies, industry applications, implementation of certification testing, and technical standards, with the goal of enhancing the application of Beidou navigation. The event aimed to fully leverage the role of product testing and certification to boost the Beidou industry’s high-quality and secure development.
Li Chunjiang, Deputy Director of the Certification Supervision Department of the State Administration for Market Regulation, noted in his speech that the administration has placed significant emphasis on Beidou satellite navigation product certification in recent years. Building on the establishment and implementation of a certification system for basic Beidou products, they are actively promoting the evaluation of products used in Beidou navigation applications. This initiative represents a further expansion and refinement of the certification system. Looking ahead, they plan to collaborate with professional institutions and industry experts to engage in technical research on the safety evaluation of Beidou products, thoroughly investigating the technological advancements, industry applications, and safety needs within this field. They aim to tackle key technical challenges related to certification evaluation, ensuring a solid technical foundation for the expansion of Beidou satellite navigation product certification.
Yang Jun, Deputy Director of the China Satellite Navigation System Management Office, emphasized that the quality and information security of Beidou satellite navigation products are fundamental to the development of the Beidou application industry. Currently, the integration of “Beidou+” and “+Beidou” is showing positive prospects, marking a new phase in large-scale Beidou applications. Yang expressed hope that the Beidou satellite navigation product certification efforts would provide more standardized and normalized guidance for the research and production of related products, ensuring the sustainable and orderly development of the Beidou industry and supporting the next generation of the Beidou system.
Yu Xiancheng, President of the China Satellite Navigation and Positioning Association, highlighted the importance of establishing a robust certification system focused on Beidou technology and products. He stated that improving Beidou satellite navigation product certification is crucial for deepening the application of the Beidou system and promoting high-quality industrial development. The association plans to leverage its Beidou Testing Certification Committee to vigorously promote the certification system across the industry, encouraging widespread adoption of Beidou satellite navigation systems across various sectors while working to ensure the trustworthiness of certification results.
The symposium was organized by the China Cyber Security Review and Certification Center and was hosted by the testing center of the China Beidou Safety Detection Center Co., Ltd.
