She was quickly transported to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens Hospital, where she was assessed with minor head injuries and is currently reported to be in stable condition.
The NYPD Warrant Squad, along with detectives from the 109th precinct, apprehended Harris on October 4th. A police spokesperson explained that Harris allegedly approached the victim from behind and pushed her off the platform just as she was exiting the train before fleeing the scene. That evening, Harris was taken to Queens Hospital for a mental health evaluation.
Residing at 39-12 Main Street in Flushing, Harris is identified as an African American male. Authorities confirmed that there was no prior acquaintance between him and the victim before the incident. After the necessary detention procedures at the Jamaica Transit District 20, he was formally charged with attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault.
