Tyler Jones, a spokesperson for the Georgia Department of Natural Resources, reported that several individuals have been transported to the hospital, and rescue teams from multiple agencies are actively conducting search and rescue operations. Sapelo Island, located in eastern Georgia, is accessible only by ferry, and on the day of the incident, residents were engaged in a celebratory event on the island.
