On October 21, the launch event for the high-quality development of cultural co-construction and sharing among Changsha, Zhuzhou, and Xiangtan took place in Xiangtan, Hunan Province. Representatives from the publicity departments and cultural federations of the three cities, along with individuals from the restaurant, travel agency, and cultural industry associations, signed a series of cooperation agreements aimed at enhancing cultural integration in the Chang-Zhu-Tan area.
According to the “Cooperation Agreement for High-Quality Development of Cultural Co-Construction and Sharing in Chang-Zhu-Tan,” the three cities plan to collaborate in seven key areas: the creation of artistic masterpieces, cultural talent cultivation, the enhancement of cultural brand activities, the protection and inheritance of cultural heritage, the revitalization of traditional culture, the development of the cultural industry, and public cultural services. They will establish mechanisms for joint meetings, communications, exchanges, and information sharing to create a new pattern of collaborative high-quality cultural development.
During the launch ceremony, several initiatives were introduced, including the Chang-Zhu-Tan tourism and culture integration benefits list, themed red tourism trails, culinary guides, and a series of cultural and artistic events. The benefits list includes discounts on entrance tickets to tourist attractions, hotels, dining, homestays, cultural products, shared theaters, and arts salons. Residents of the three cities can enjoy these discounts by presenting their ID cards. University students can use their student IDs, while military personnel can present their service or retirement certificates.
As the host city for the launch event, Xiangtan has actively worked towards creating a cultural circle in the Chang-Zhu-Tan region. A cultural promotion conference was held in Changsha in May, introducing premium red tourism routes between the two cities. Collaborating with cultural heritage institutions in Zhuzhou and Liling, Xiangtan hosted the “Porcelain of Xiang – Hunan Porcelain Exhibition” at its museum. Additionally, during the past two Chinese New Year celebrations, Xiangtan’s intangible cultural heritage performances were showcased in Changsha. The original flower drum opera “Battlefield Yellow Flower,” featuring actors from both Changsha and Xiangtan, has received several national awards. Furthermore, a public library alliance was formed with libraries in Changsha and Zhuzhou, contributing to the shared construction of public cultural services in the Chang-Zhu-Tan area.
