-Qian- Fang Gaoneng! Pink Charity went into the mountains and saw a different version of her

As the saying goes, “Women hold up half the sky.” They bear not only the everyday burdens of household chores but also the hopes and futures of their families.

From childbirth and marriage to managing households and finances, society bestows multiple roles and responsibilities upon women—each carrying pressures that can feel like mountains. These pressures, often unspoken, gradually erode women’s mental and physical health, signaling a critical need for awareness.

Statistics reveal that in our country, the median age for breast cancer diagnosis is 13 to 15 years younger than in the United States, indicating that more young women are under threat from this “pink killer.” To contribute to a world free of breast cancer, iKang Healthcare Group has dedicated itself to the pink charity cause since 2011, marking over a decade of commitment.

On October 25th, the “Pink Power in Guizhou: Join Us in Protection” event will take the annual Pink Ribbon charity campaign into the mountains for the first time, blooming in the Gao Po Miao Township of Huaxi District, Guiyang, Guizhou Province.

As the Pink Ribbon meets the vibrant spirit of Guizhou, we will offer three days of free health clinics to bring health services closer to the community. This year marks the release of the 13th edition of the “China Women’s Pink Health Report,” which will unveil data on breast health among women in Guizhou—does escaping from major cities like Beijing or Shanghai truly favor breast health?

Our initiative takes a direct approach to reach women in rural areas, promoting early screening, early diagnosis, and early treatment. From October 18th to 20th, our medical team traveled to regions such as Huishui, Libo, and Luodian, offering home health consultations. During these visits, villagers experienced innovative technologies like smart biosensors and AI retinal health assessments firsthand.

Overcoming the vast mountains, we connected urban life with rural realities using a pink ribbon, ensuring that women who nurture the land also receive love and care. On the event day, a mobile health clinic will provide even more hope and warmth to the community.

What is the current state of women’s breast health? Is it improving or worsening? How many will face challenges in preventing breast cancer in the future, and from which regions are women more likely to escape these risks? The likelihood of developing breast cancer seems almost embedded in our DNA.

Since 2011, we have consistently published the Pink Report, using data to portray the true landscape of breast health among women, raising awareness among millions. The “2024 China Women’s Health Pink Report” will be officially launched at our event, revealing over three million data points to present the latest trends in breast health and offering preventive recommendations for women.

For 14 years, the Pink Ribbon has illuminated landmark cities like Shanghai, Chengdu, Hangzhou, and Guangzhou, celebrating the power of pink. This time, the boundaries are expanding with unique, powerful initiatives blooming in Guizhou, shedding light on the lives of rural women.

Join us on October 25th for the “Pink Power in Guizhou: Join Us in Protection” event in Gao Po Miao Township, Guiyang.
