There will be widespread precipitation in the central and eastern regions, and cold air will continue to affect the Northeast and other places

According to the China Meteorological Administration as of October 15th, areas in northern Xinjiang, Qinghai, and the western Sichuan Plateau are expected to experience significant snowfall over the next three days, which may impact transportation. Starting on the 16th, widespread precipitation will occur in eastern parts of the southwestern region, North China, the Huanghuai area, and the Jianghan region, which will help to alleviate meteorological drought conditions. Attention should be paid to its effects on transportation and agricultural production.

From October 16th to 18th, a large-scale precipitation event is forecasted for central and eastern China, predominantly featuring light rain. However, areas such as North China, the Jianghan region, the southern part of the Huanghuai area, Jiangsu, as well as parts of Jiangnan and Guizhou, could see moderate to heavy rainfall. Some regions, particularly eastern Jianghan, southern Huanghuai, and southern Guizhou, may be affected by localized heavy downpours and strong convective weather. Simultaneously, the northwestern part of Xinjiang and the southeastern Tibetan Plateau are expected to experience light to moderate snow or sleet, with some areas potentially facing heavy snow or blizzard conditions.

Additionally, a strong cold front is anticipated to continue affecting northeastern regions and other areas. On the 15th, affected regions including southeastern Inner Mongolia and the northeastern provinces may see temperatures drop by 6 to 10 degrees Celsius, with localized decreases exceeding 12 degrees. Between the 18th and 19th, a powerful cold air mass is expected to move into most areas north of the Yangtze River, resulting in similar temperature drops, particularly in the northeast where some areas may experience drops greater than 12 degrees. Accompanying this front will be winds of 4 to 6 levels, with gusts reaching 7 to 8 levels in some regions, including the eastern sea areas.
