On October 8, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs released a report indicating that the “Wholesale Agricultural Products Price Index” is currently at 133.67. This reflects a decrease of 0.92 points compared to the figures recorded before the holiday on September 30. The index for essential food items, often referred to as the “vegetable basket” index, has also seen a dip, standing at 136.87, which is down by 1.07 points since prior to the holiday.
As of 2:00 PM today, the average wholesale price of pork nationwide is 25.10 yuan per kilogram, a decline of 1.4% from the pre-holiday period. Beef is currently priced at 61.73 yuan per kilogram, a slight decrease of 0.1%. Mutton is at 58.45 yuan per kilogram, down by 0.9%, while eggs are being sold for 10.23 yuan per kilogram, reflecting a 2.8% drop. Meanwhile, the price of whole chickens has remained stable at 18.11 yuan per kilogram.
When looking at the 28 key vegetables that are continuously monitored, the average price is recorded at 6.31 yuan per kilogram, down 1.4% since before the holiday. In the fruit category, the average price of six monitored varieties stands at 7.30 yuan per kilogram, reflecting a slight decrease of 0.3%. The prices for various types of fish display mixed trends: crucian carp is priced at 21.28 yuan per kilogram (down by 0.8%), carp at 14.46 yuan (down by 2.1%), white catfish at 10.28 yuan (up by 0.3%), and ribbonfish at 41.52 yuan (up by 1.5%).
Today, among the 46 key fresh agricultural products tracked in the wholesale market, the top five price increases compared to the previous period are seen in celery (up 4.7%), cauliflower (up 4.2%), Kyoho grapes (up 3.9%), pumpkin (up 3.4%), and cabbage (up 3.4%). Conversely, the top five price decreases are in spinach (down 16.4%), rapeseed (down 7.5%), lettuce (down 6.6%), napa cabbage (down 6.2%), and green onions (down 4.7%).
